The Mackevision VFX team is proud of the recognition of the feature film “Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver” with the animago AWARD 2018 in the category “Best Visualization”.
As the world market leader for computer-generated imagery (CGI), Mackevision is the specialist for computer-generated images and visual effects. The use of Visual Effects enabled the feature film “Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver” to tell a story completely free of creative limitations. The Morrowland sequences was recreated at Filmpark Babelsberg, the desert shots were filmed in Cape Town, while the scenes in Mandala were captured in a hall against a green backdrop or ‘green screen’, as it’s known in the trade. The rest was digitally created.
Mackevision is delighted that the joint project of several German VFX companies was honored with this year’s animago AWARD for “Best Visual Effects”. The category honors the most successful fusion of real film and visual effects with focus on originality, credibility and technical perfection.
For more than 20 years, the animago AWARD has been the worldwide competition for 3D animation & stills, visual effects, visualization and design. More than 23,000 production from experienced professionals and young talents from around the world have been submitted for the awards since the beginning.
