„Donate your deposit“: Mackevision apprentices collect for the children’s hospice

Mackevision’s apprentices collect and donate almost 3.000 € to the children’s and youth hospice through their „Donate your deposit“ fundraising.

Two years ago, the apprentices at Mackevision called on to their colleagues, to dispose of their purchased returnable bottles in specifically provided collection containers at the offices to donate them to a good cause. The apprentices regularly empty out the containers, return the bottles and collect the deposits. Thus, the internal “Donate your deposit” fundraiser was created.

Our colleagues’ encouragement for the fundraising is still strong, so that the apprentices were able to collect a significant amount in 2018, too. As every year, our management was also looking for a good cause to support with the annual corporate donation. As they are very impressed by the apprentices’ social commitment, they decided to support the fundraiser financially as well. Therefore, the fundraiser turned out even more successful, by generating 2.860€. During the previous two years, the project was able to generate a total of 3.860€ in donations for the children’s and youth hospital. We are all very proud of this achievement!

The children’s and youth hospice Stuttgart can currently care for up to eight children. They receive individual care and support, oriented on their specific needs. The children have access to a variety of facilities such as a creative room, a room for relaxation and music therapy, a movement area, a Snoezelen room along with a movement pool. The aim is to create a place for children and young adults where they can feel at home and be together with their families “We are a happy house, where a lot of laughing is going on. That’s very important for us”, says hospice employee Marion Ebach.

The in-patient hospice is funded by donations and volunteer help as only the children’s day is financed by the health insurance companies.

“We are very thankful for the donation, because not only the affected children get supported by the money, but also the parents and siblings, who stay at our facility, too. I think it’s great, that young people like you demonstrate social commitment and take on the “work” to support social projects. Therefore, we’d like to thank you again sincerely”, says Marion Ebach. Thus, Mackevision’s apprentices will continue their “Donate you deposit” fundraising in the future to raise money and support the children’s and youth hospice.
